BLUECUBE Aerospace (BCA) seeks to build, launch, utilize, and educate using CubeSat technology with students. BCA supports Florida’s future 21st century workforce – students collaborate to create novel satellite payloads, develop mission plans, and learn professional team culture. The resulting full proposals written by students are submitted in response to NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative. BCA supports students as they engage in technical conferences through presentations and technical writing and mentors students who have participated in Florida’s Space Day for the past several years.
BLUECUBE Aerospace mentored the first middle school team to launch a CubeSat, the WeissSat-1, which deployed in 2018, and will launch their second CubeSat, the CapSat-1, in late 2021. In 2020, BCA created the Wolfpack CubeSat Development Team to continue educating students to design, build, and launch their small satellites. Additionally, the Wolfpack students, ages 11-18, engage in grassroots public policy efforts related to education and aerospace issues. Especially important to this company and student team is the need to increase the number and diversity of students in the STEAM pipeline. Together, BLUECUBE Aerospace and the Wolfpack CubeSat Development Team look forward to supporting the 2021 Florida Space Day. Together they work for a better Florida, where more students have access to experiential, industry-focused, aerospace themed education.
